It's amazing stuff and hopefully what i'd blog will encourage and inspire you dear readers :P (as if i have any). What a time to do this during June holidays where we should be mugging for BT2. band concert...

band performance was awesome!
the first half with all the nice music
it was greatly enjoyable
love the France n Irish feel to the 2 different songs
felt like eating French bread and drinking Irish cream respectively after each piece
hahas a bit exaggerated lah but yupp
the next half was mind blowing
great script, actors putting in much effort
background band was on timing
amazing cast
BUT sadly lost to the bad sound system n mumbling here n there
totally blew me away with the puns, connotations and various medley and cross action between different disney movies/songs.
uber amusing and entertaining
definitely worth the money
u were awesome man, weitheng! good job!
hahas didn't know u had that many supporters :P

it's overwhelming to see how things are so disparate and varied, of such extremities. how different are people and things. there is a great divide in almost everything in the world. how people think, what people possess, people's attitude and character... it's truly amazing and marvelous how things works. but still can't comprehend why God does this divide thingy...

through a conversation with a couple of friends, made me realize how far am i from a lot of things. not just far less knowledgeable than many, far more retarded and less varied as a person. guess it's to each his own but can't seem to see what's my own. how can one be jack-of-all-trades. it's just seem so hard for me. trying to learn things, which i never seem to have the determination to do so. maybe it's just my character but i don't know lah... hais... depressed? emo-ing? sad? pathetic? guess it's a mixture of all...

inadequate in all that i do, that's what I'm feeling now. it just seem so hard to comprehend certain things. is it just nature or the nurture? hmmmmm don't really know where i stand. guess there are things that just can't be understood-ed...

putting my trust in You. never seem to fail. let this not be a foot hold of the evil one. for I KNOW that it's the truth that will set me free.

getting to appreciate Ms K's lessons more n more. though it's still very hard to catch at times, the content she throws at u is more than enough. learning and trying to absorb as much as possible.
lovely literature. seriously considering to major/minor it...

Ms Tan didn't turn up today :( little sad but was a slightly relaxing break before that horrible physics mock paper. it was horrible man!
it's really times like this when it highlights to me the fact that the subject combination i took is wrong or maybe it's just me and my contempt towards physics as a subject. Sorry Mr Ong, no offense alright... guess i just simply don't enjoy physics at all. or it may just boil back down to my mentality and attitude bah... is economics all that tough? i wonder...

apparently, decision making is still not yet my cup of tea. takes ages before we come to a common choice. PS, LJS, Awake... choices made at the end of the day.

Awake was a great movie. Illuminates certain themes/ subject matter that was in a sense, striking to me. Death was portrayed and brought across via various means. One was definitely the allusion to light as life and how death is foreshadowed through the dimming and fading off of light. The show made me slightly paranoid over surgical procedures and anesthesia. I was simply amazed by how the doctors work and operate; how they can pluck the heart out and put in, then out again and in again. Like what Wei Theng said, no wonder they need so many years of education, attachment, etc. to qualify to be a doctor.
I guess it does hover over the topic on Science and Ethics, something Ms Tan was going through. I reminded me of the Hippocratic Oath and all... wonder how can we determine the morality of the doctors... seems slightly scary...
This leads me to the theme of Trust. Should we or should we not trust in people freely? Think twice over trusting someone entirely. How long do we need to really get to know one truly well? Pride and Prejudice is brought to mind. The impulse to judge one; is that really good or bad? i wonder...
Stylistically the movie explored recently-on-the-rise kind of technique: flashback and recount. I sense slight irony towards the ending too.

Recently have been pondering over things. How does one developed in life? Is it like how a story unfolds and how the plot of a drama develops? One develops and grows character-wise, wisdom/knowledge-wise, etc. Things are just simply too varied. Life.
God's works are just too awesome and great to comprehend.

looking forward to tomorrow. finally a day of rest. or should i say to catch up with work. hmmmm... sport's day tomorrow. no lessons!!! :D

my inadequacy was camouflaged by an amusing mistake.
guess God does have his ways of turning the tide
a fine lesson learned that not all mistakes are bad
some are rather beneficial
and definitely all are God-planned :)

there were only three of them for this particular category
two pros, one newbie

to not much of a surprise the newbie did not even qualify
none of the 6 throws passed the qualifying mark of 9.5m
guess that means no need to even measure the distance
what pride is there left to be spoken of
or was there even any at the start
obviously the newbie signed up for the wrong event
great exposure for the noob tho
learned that he has still a long way to go
guess 'face' is just something not totally vital
for what had he not tried and failed
but glad that he knows he attempted

(some ppl are complaining about)
it was pure ranting on my part
hehex...
getting it out of my mouth,
in this case my hands which typed it out,
makes me feel less burdened and less overwhelmed.

on a lighter note...
its been a great week so far.
although it was totally unproductive
and i aint been doing anything for my revision,
it was greatly enjoyed esp since sun.
btw, MUST START STUDYING SOON!!!

sun went out with a group of ppl.
this group i should say is one greatly unexpected
everyone was from different service, across various cell groups
wilson, xiao grace, jing wei, koh wei, loo wei, ros n me

was fun though
thoroughly enjoyed myself
it's been quite a while seen i hanged out and chilled so much
hahas
nothing much in common
other than same church, food and of course our same God Almighty
so interesting how we can so easily get together
hope we can go out again ^^

then come mon
had extra lessons in sch
was late for maths lecture
spent whole day in sch actually
training after that
almost like normal sch day lar
what kind of holiday is this!!!
hahas no lar... it was tiring-ly nice
if there is such a thing
then today coach talked to me more than normal

learn something nice

In any sports, these 3 things are very important:

2. Strength
3. Speed
lacking any will cause one to fail...

btw the qns was on the arts and something about it helping us to lead a better live

people might say good enough le
but i say is the worst grade one can ever get.
WHY SO? some might ask.
cause get any lower one will be quite certain to retake

it's the B that makes u ponder whether to put in the effort to retake or not.
it's irritatingly annoying and annoyingly irritating.

therefore now i'm in a vexed, confused, mixed-up state of mind...
but really dont feel like going through the motion of chinese lessons ley...
which not 100% ensures an improvement by a grade.

i was OVERWHELMED
don't know by what but it was rather creepy for me
i was like walk walk then thoughts came into my mind then
next moment i was tearing...

it's been quite a while since i saw such a worthy movie!
really enjoyed myself throughout the whole show
the effects was cool, especially jumping to and fro iconic places
storyline not that bad, although was more or less able to guess it,
the suspense held was nice

a totally worth it show
cinema would definitely be better than vcd/dvd
cause the sound and visual effects were great!

i'm back!!!

hey all m back
thailand was great
awesome time with God
a whole new experience even though its my 2nd MT
the whole story is real long so i try my best to summarise the 9 days
after touchdown as usual took long bus ride to our province
along the way had dinner at the same place as last year
together with all the other teams going to other province
then on we departed to our area, Bua Yai
reached there late in the night
checked into the hotel
and guess what, my roomate is ShunJi, fellow ATL
he was in the same team with me last year :)
bad thing is that our room don't have heater!!!
too tired and too freezing to bathe so felt asleep
realise that of all the rooms only 3 rooms had heater lar
the mornings and nights there in Bua Yai is cold
real cold... even colder than that in the summer in UK...
but in the afternoons are hot, some days hotter than in S'pore
first 3 days were all "English Camp"
why the inverted commas is cause it aint really a camp
all 3 days were used to teach English
we had lack of interpreters so we used pictures, hand signs n all...
interesting cause since i wanted to be a teacher
i got to be exposed to that but with addition of language barrier
anyways day one was in one sch and day 2&3 in another
got to interact with the students
we did evangelistic stuff too
saw plenty of salvation
we had night rallies as usual
and learnt to be prayerful
and that we should worship God for who He is
and not just to create noise to attract the crowd
for with His presence, He will draw men to Him
saw healings and salvation too
one particular healing that i myself prayed for was a girl who by some mishap sort of fractured/sprained her wrist; bone was misplaced and had pain while moving her hand.
after a couple of prayers, it was much better and the bone was back in placed.
amazing stuff i tell ya
lot of new experiences this year
esp being assistant team leader and all...
gotta plan some events too
through out the trip God keep speaking to me a single thing
that is everyone is unique
each is gifted in their own special way
and God uses all of us differently
the list goes on and on...
hope to be able to recall and apply all that i learnt into my life
even when i go back to school
wooohooo
for now, let's rest and prepare myself for school
esp clearing the tutorials
then YI camp and xmas bash
then YAY!!! school reopens...

didnt wanted to go training at first
cause was playing bowling with the class (at least part of the class i mean) before training

coach really did wad he promised!

first time i would describe training as fun
really lar! im not like zhi hao mad about training de

"played" with medicine ball today
overhead throws, back throws, vertical throws...
the horrible part was the lunges...
then ended off with drills :D
learnt a new thing call vertical pounding...
totally weird... tempo quite addictive though :P

training was filled with lots of funny incidents
from cheryl getting hit by her own throw to me cramping during the drills
though attendance today was low,
it was great time spent!
plus factor: m exercising in the midst of laughter :D

the day started off quite badly
aint in best moods
but was brushed away by mrs lim's farewell n chapel
first time holy communion in the cc
in front of the whole cohort
was like totally weird for me
cause i aint from an Anglican church
but i guess the purpose is still the same
in memory of what Jesus Christ did for us
then moods was heightened by music brought by band n choir
followed by videos n ppt done up by other ccas
quite interesting to watch
it made me ponder how it'd be like if i had joined choir or band...
but after this afternoon/evening's training
i think track n field aint tt bad after all :D

Monday 22/10
yesterday started the so call lecture time table
totally bored
plenty of one hour breaks here n there
went sch mainly for op at the end of the day
had only 2 lessons namely Chinese n Chem tut
hahas
missed Chinese by spending a few hours over at the career guidance room
some called counselor room
hahas
had fun doing career analysis, career tests n all
learn loads about myself
how my personality fits what jobs n all
its kool when your ideal job do fit yourself
hahas

the top few job choices that are suitable for me n that i like are:
- teacher [something i have wanted n always kept in mind]
- chef [thought of it before but put the idea off sometime ago]
- food technologist [hmmm interesting sounding]
- animal trainer [another childhood dream]
- chemist/ chemistry engineer [another of my targeted ones]

apparently it seems to ms lam, the counselor, and even to myself
that i seem to like to do things to bless people
be it enlightening students by passing down knowledge,
or cooking good food for others to enjoy.
hahas a totally new thing i never thought of myself about.
guess it do ties in with my love language
that is expressing my feelings through things that i do for ppl

for now still need to keep my options open bah
abit hard to decide btw teaching, cooking, etc.
but at least the scope is more or less focused :D
ms lam suggested about food science
guess its nice as it would tie in with chem n food
but doubt any university in Singapore offer a degree on tt
wei theng then told me about France
n there might be gastronomy n stuff like tt available there
hmmmm nice sounding but will i be able to afford... tt's the qns...
whatever the case hopefully i will be doing something God wants me to

Literature paper was first up
paper was okaaaay but
didn't have time to
fully present my answers in the essay

towards the end i only wrote 2 points which obviously aint enough
to add to the misery the invigilator was annoying
he started counting down from 10 mins to 5 mins to 1 min to 30 sec
argh! totally urgh!!!
Chemistry was interestingly tough
didn't thought i was able to survive it
yet another challenging paper

Tues and Wed-
no paper slacked n studied

Thurs-
Maths paper was surprisingly a breeze for me
and for my standard being manageable means easy to many

though screwed up the matrix qns but overall okie

Fri-
Physics paper is totally disgusting
to add on to the disgusting paper
i haven't fully studied it
moreover now that whether i can take h3 chem is dependent on the results of the other 2 h2 is irritatingly pressurizing

this past yr has been interesting
learned a lot especially through GP and lit
both trained my language and the way i express myself through words
it helped me honed my English and essay writing
i realize my weakness and how to deal with it
it's actually not substantiating my point and listing evidence, examples, etc.
i'm a touch-n-go person but i forget that there is a need to support what i stated to convince and bring forth my point
loving arts subjects more n more
hahas

today the GP class only consist of about 9 people inclusive of ms sng
most people either didn't come school or didn't feel like coming for GP
but too bad for them, today is the best GP lesson i ever had
we had class outside classroom, the benches there
it was like small group discussion and we asked qns
gained a lot from it and actually effectively helped me condensed what i learned the whole year into a few points
now i feel guilty not handing in my assignments... :(
ms sng is a nice teacher
hope to have her for another year :D

all bringing with them depressing news...
yes even chem...

first off... got only L5 for skill C
argh!!!
fortunately grabbed hold of a L8 for skill D

then for an instant i was feeling good
cause for once my grade for a lit assignment changed
no longer 23/50
but now it's even worst 18/50
a change indeed from E to U...
ARGH!!!

then browsed the promos timetable
having Chemistry and Literature on the same day,
TOGETHER!!!
both subjects that i want a good grade so badly...
sigh... on the brighter note...
got 2 days after that to study for math n physics...
yay... :(

the latter part of the day was much better
studied MATH the whole day today
amazing how i struggled to focus on it
completed a single integration tutorial
a maths tutorial u know! been a long time...
hahas...

Equinox

spent the evening going to Equinox
an annual dance event for the foreign scholars
organized by the ASEAN committee
got invited so went together with my classmates
got a shock the moment we reached 3rd floor together with Brendan
went downstairs to wait for the rest...
the amount of ppl was amazingly huge
and the way they dressed were much formal than us
didn't thought it'd be such a big scale kind of thing
hahas
Ryan arrived shortly and we headed up n wait for the gurls
the whole thing soon kicked off with some drinks
some performance were also ongoing
then it was the prom king n queen election
and soon enough the dance floor was open
hahas
and as most would have guessed
we weren't very keen on grooving our moves
chatted and slacked
saw Mr Wong there too :D
it was only towards the end then we tried dancing
seems like most of us can actually dance rather well

overall the thing was quite a nice experience
although not entirely exciting and fun
but had my fill of enjoyment :)

HAPPY TEACHERS' DAY!!!
to all teachers, tutors, coaches, etc out there!

Today's sch performance was TERRIFIC!!!
1 well-planned event by the new student council
2 entertaining and wonderful pieces from the SAJChorale
3 friends showed their moves in superbly choreographed dances
i.e. the dancers n the councilors

i was unable to identify my friends in the dance society at first, but its also because first time seeing Ting Ying and Stephanie dancing!!! so kool lar! good job!
the dance by the councilors was great too. their hard work rehearsing paid off. Ryan made quite a good dancer :D yellow tie :P

the only thing that i disliked about is the ACES day dance... irritating, retarded moves... sigh... argh!!!

we had a mini 'class outing' today. 6 out of 24- not bad for a start. hehex.
Yoo, Eli, Ploy, Brendan, Ryan n I went to K-box. Had a great first experience both as the first 'class outing' and first time going k-box :)
Got to know that all of us can sing pretty well :D really look forward to more of this kind of outing and more ppl coming along!

something struck me... I should learn to stop worrying too much and just chill. Just do it! instead of complaining and worrying over stuff. To confront things that need to be done/resolved/solved rather than running away from them. I am one who needs quite a lot of affirmation before i start moving.

really wonder why ppl would admire intelligence...
i say being wise and street smart n all is so much more important

we tend to get complacent and just try to protect n stop building
thinking that what we built is sufficient to protect us
but don't forget the enemy is getting stronger too
we must both protect n build at the same time
the more we think we can overcome the more easily we will fall
things in the long run do wear out...

running around busy with his work
but soon gets tired and stops to rest/emo
nevertheless he doesn't give up
he recovers and continues to run
this cycle continues...

maybe he just needs some help, some assistance

It made me think about Mr. S.A.TAN. Isn't he like the Lord Voldemort in the story, the evil one. He uses the same scheming methods to try make us feel alone, helpless, guilty, etc. This would cut us away from friends and support from church and all, making us all the more vulnerable and the easier it is for him to attack us, to spite God. This thought just came and rather overwhelmed me during that part of the show. Friends are a source of support and help and they are indeed vital.

It also ties in with how we can deal with thoughts evoked and put into us by the devil. We should all discipline our mind to only ideas that are right. Capture evil thoughts straight away and do not let them dwell within our minds. Apparently throughout the movie lots of connections and analogies came to me. Left the movie with rather heavy thoughts.

The movie was overall quite nice, at least better than the 3rd movie. Lovely graphics and new casts but the storyline was too summarized and things happen so quickly that i think if u hadn't read the book u will indeed be lost in the plot. Some rather essential details lost its way on coming to the big screen but nevertheless everything is well captured into this 2hr plus movie. Who ask them want to make it into a butt-friendly movie, that's the best u can get i guess...

amazing to see a handful of people still online chionging project. but it's nice to have people u know that are still at their own computers rushing projects together with u.
had a great time analysing the poems and artworks... abit of crappy bullshit but think it makes sense all together

still think my skill of prose writing a bit weak, cant seem to put things in proper sentences and linking them up into paragraphs, churning them out into an essay. can be seen in both my GP and Lit. that i need more practice. cant seem to convey my thoughts well enough... maybe i should start prosing here :P

hahas. felt quite accomplished by my works today. although most part of it is revelation from God. I was like totally mind-blank until i on praise songs then ideas slowly started to surface.
was quite a nice experience. especially this also counts for revising for my H1 which is on 3rd Aug which is like ages later... but neverthless i m prepared!!! :S or am i?
